The multidisciplinary program encompasses the media, marketing, and entrepreneurship side of the music business, backed up by a strong foundation in the liberal arts.

The program was made possible by a gift from Martin Bandier, the chairman and CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, who is a Syracuse University trustee.

Interesting Fact: Drew Taggart, better known as one half of the Grammy-winning duo The Chainsmokers, graduated from the Bandier program in 2012.

Practical Experience

The Bandier Program's curriculum is a rigorous 125 credits based in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and complimented by courses in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, The College of Visual and Performing Arts, and The College of Arts and Sciences. You will earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Recording and Entertainment Industries.

Your will develop an ability to analyze current trends in the music industry, a familiarity with professional music organizations, and an aptitude for developing solutions to industry problems. Throughout your degree program, you will have the opportunity to attend conferences and take part in a music internship.

High-level executives in the music industry take a special interest in Bandier students, keeping you current on the fast-paced industry trends. You can learn from and network with them during the weekly Soyars Lecture Series, and receive ongoing mentorship and support.

Three required major market internships give you valuable exposure to music industry structure.
