Practical Experience
Sound recording technology students learn how to record, produce, mix, and master sound recordings in Syracuse University’s state-of-the-art Belfer Laboratory and Studio. This is a Live End/Dead End recording studio that has earned a reputation as an incubator for the artists, audio engineers, and businesspeople who shape the music industry.
You’ll gain valuable professional work experience under the supervision of a professional recording engineer as part of Setnor School’s Recording Services. Work in a live production environment providing audio engineering services for more than 200 events each year.
You’ll have countless opportunities to interface with renowned national and international resident and visiting artists and industry professionals as they lead workshops, teach master classes, and deliver lectures.
Study Abroad
Today’s musicians must prepare for careers on a global level. Setnor School has designed study abroad programs that align with your curriculum in Brazil, London, and France. There is also an optional semester in Los Angeles, which is considered the entertainment capital of the world.
Music majors enjoy a weeklong immersion program in New York City called the Gilbert Week. You’ll gain insight into music careers, meet with alumni and arts professionals, and visit some leading arts organizations and institutions.
